• One of the big movies coming out Friday is “Exodus: Gods and Kings.” Click here to go to GeekTyrant.com to see nine television spots, two clips and a feature on the film.

• Remember how “Batman V Superman” moved its opening date up nearly a month so it wouldn’t collide with Marvel’s “Captain America 3?” Looks like “Pan” is doing the same after it was set to open the same weekend as Marvel’s “Ant-Man.”

• Sean Penn is a nimble former Special Forces op in “The Gunman.” You can see an exclusive trailer for the film at Yahoo! Movies.

• “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” is off to a strong start internationally. You can also check out this cool clip leading up to the film’s release in the U.S.

• “The Hateful Eight,” Quentin Tarantino’s heavily-hyped western, has started production in Colorado.

Scott Rudin and Amy Pascal have apologized for their comments in emails that were leaked in the recent Sony hack.

Watch this exclusive trailer for Entertainment Weekly for “The Duff” and decide whether you think it’s worth watching or not (the jury is still out for us).

Another clip to watch, from Yahoo! Movies, is for the film “The Woman in Black 2.” It hits theaters on Jan. 2.

Screen Junkies got the chance to ask “Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn questions from fans of the website. And, in case you’re wondering, he says there won’t be a crossover with “Avengers” and “Guardians.”

Jonathan Frakes, who played Riker on “Star Trek The Next Generation” from 1987-1994, has experience as a director within the franchise.

He directed “Star Trek First Contact” and “Star Trek Insurrection” during his time with the program. Now, with the news Roberto Orci is out as director for “Star Trek 3,” Frakes says he’d like to take a stab at the current franchise.

Speaking with KOMO News Radio in Seattle, Frakes said he’d be all for the chance to direct the next installment. Currently, Edgar Wright is considered the odds on favorite to helm the third film. JJ Abrams did the first two films but is currently involved in the “Star Wars” franchise.
