‘San Andreas’ drops first movie trailer

We’ve seen them before.

Disaster films were once a genre “almost” as popular as comic book films. Movie studios went through with numerous attempts to create the right movie to get people’s attentions for everything from earthquakes to volcanoes to asteroids destroying the planet.

But “San Andreas” may be different. First, it involves one of the hottest action stars out there now, Dwayne Johnson. Second, it’s about the San Andreas Fault, the famous area of land that has been the subject of “the big one” earthquake for years.

In “San Andreas,” the big one apparently happens as a magnitude 9 earthquake hits California. Watch the first official trailer and see for yourself.

The film comes to theaters on May 29.
