John Lee Hancock, who directed “Blind Side” and “Saving Mr. Banks,” may be set to direct “The Founder,” the story of the rise of the McDonald’s fast food empire.

The Hollywood Reporter reports the director is in negotiations with FilmNation and the Combine, run by Jeremy Renner and Don Handfield, who will also be producing.

“The Founder” tells the story of Ray Kroc, who joined with ac and Dick McDonald to form the fast-food franchise in the 1950s. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to take the company from the brothers and create a multi-billion dollar empire.

THR reports the tone of the script will remind people of “The Social Network” and “There Will Be Blood.”
