Can’t wait for the sequel to this year’s “Godzilla” movie? You will only have to wait half as long … sort of.

Toho Japan, which created the iconic franchise, will debut a new movie of the famed creature in 2016. It will be the 29th Godzilla movie for the studio, according to MovieWeb.com.

The latest “Godzilla” came out in May and made $500 million worldwide. It’s success sparked demand for a sequel, which director Gareth Edwards will also lead. However, since he’s in line to make one of the Star Wars spinoff movies that will come after “The Force Awakens,” the film won’t be released until 2018.

No formal casting has been set for the Toho Japan version of Godzilla. Production is set to begin in the summer.
